While I abhore the behaviour of media grabbers such as Sam Newman, Wayne Carey and never ending list of sporting bad boys, I must say they are not entirely to blame. Our dysfunctional society, starved for entertainment, has created a monster by elevating these blokes to the status of gods. In that sense we are all guilty.

There is no doubt they are skillful sportsmen but if we had our priorities right we would better reward those who make a more useful contribution to our society instead of paying a fortune to these old footballers. It is all upside down from a logic perspective. Meanwhile our planet is going down the gurgler

While we continue to promote sensation, image and looks above integrity, wisdom and sincerity, we, as a species, will not evolve to the level we must to resolve our looming global issues.

The real tragedy is that we are all capable of much better. The TV producers and bosses are responsible as much as all the viewers who waste their precious lives watching the old footballers clown around and belch out their machismo and misogynist attitudes.

And from a big picture perspective humanity does not have long to get its act together. Humans must become more conscious, we all need to grow up and quickly. No blame - just disastrous consequences if we don’t.
